The author states that Piano comes from a family of builders and contractors and studied architecture at Milan Polytechnic, Italy. He developed the Neighborhood Workshop with his first wife Magda Arduino in 1979. The author states that the project that helped him gain recognition is the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France.
