| Sumario: | The article presents the literary work "Light in August" by William Faulker. The book started with Lena Grove, character, that is pregnant representing kinship. According to the author the novel rejected anthropology and argued that it radical in questioning the human itself. In the novel by Giorgio Agamben charged anthropology in strengthening nature-culture binary as common among human communities and Claude Lévi-Strauss had emphasized the link nature and culture to human. Joe Christmas, protagonist of Faulker's novel, is inevitably self enclosed therefore obliged to continue relationships. Kinship is one of the main foundation of contention in anthropology. An overview of the story is also discussed.
