| Sumario: | This essay discusses the similarity of the obscurity of the prologue of the book "Lais" by Marie de France to the Parable of the Sower. According to the author, de France alludes to the parable when she imagines the nobles reis to whom she dedicates the book. The author said that de France's poetics of obscurity wraps riddles in enigmas with mysteries to prolong almost indefinitely the reader's pleasure in encountering her "Lais." It is said that the Lais are delightful exercise in eloquence, attractive on the literal level for their skillful use of rhetoric like the parables. |
