Sumario:This article discusses the development of ubiquitous computing technology. This technology entails the use of journaling techniques to record personal behavior on cellular phone programs that offer feedback to encourage behavior changes in users. The ActivityStudio Suite of tools were developed to help programmers design algorithms that related personal behavior to feedback from the computer program. The authors explore the development of two specific programs with ActivityStudio software, the "fish'n'steps" exercise program and the UbiGreen program in environmentally conscious transportation.
