| Sumario: | The Social Thermalism Programme of the National Institute of Social Services for Retirees and Pensioners in Spain (also know as IMSERSO) implies a kind of social welfare tourism which encourages active ageing. The spas attached to the aforementioned programme in Galicia will be analysed in this paper; and the way in which an active leisure for the senior citizen population can be achieved through the therapeutic properties of the water will be proved. El Programa de Termalismo Social del IMSERSO supone un tipo de turismo asistencial que favorece el envejecimiento activo. Se analizarán en esta comunicación los balnearios adscritos a dicho programa en Galicia, y se mostrará cómo se puede lograr un ocio activo para la población de la tercera edad a través de las propiedades terapéuticas de las aguas. |
