| Sumario: | Article deals with the basis of multilevel analysis. Multilevel modelling is seen as useful method for social science research to answer basic sociological questions about the relation between individuals and social environment Article introduces the basic models of multilevel analysis: mixed models, linear multilevel models and logistic multilevel models. Also the main limitations and problems of multilevel analysis are discussed. In addition some practical advice and useful references are provided. Educational research is used as examples of multilevel modelling. It provides familiar and simple natural hierarchical structure: individual-level, class-level and school-level, It also provides a lot of examples of multilevel studies.
