Advances in such technologies as electrophoretic ink, light-emitting polymers, and organic thin-film circuits will make possible an exciting new generation of digital devices. Three emerging themes in particular stand out. The future will see computing technology that incorporates both input and output functions within a single interface. Flexible electronic media will make possible output displays of any shape. In addition, this flexibility will enable a single device to assume different shapes. |
