As an input device, a mouse has very limited dimensionality in terms of both the input it registers and the output it evokes. Organic technologies, on the other hand, open the door interfacing in multiple dimensions. Several examples are provided. The "Holowall" interactive system can simultaneously process input from several fingers. "SmartSkin" is another multiple-contact interface technology that can be implemented in surfaces of various contours.
