Sumario:The article focuses on the design concept in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). It explains that many of the developments in the field have come from the fields of Information Science (IS), Software Engineering (SE), and Design Studies. The social aspects of IS faced changes in the 1990s when designers were given more ability to interact with computer systems. The field of Organizational Semiotics (OS) is explored for its relevance to HCI. The concept of design is explored and the application of interactive design in design studios is addressed.
