| Sumario: | This study analyzes the nine issues of the newspaper entitled El Craneoscopo, published in 1874 by the Greek physician Plotino Rhodakanaty for the purpose of disseminating phrenology in Mexico. It includes a biographical sketch by his editor, and explains the nature of the pluralist theory of the brain proposed by the German doctor, Franz Joseph Gall, which was later called phrenology by his student, Johann Christoph Spurzheim. El trabajo analiza los nueve números del periódico El Craneoscopo que en 1874; publicó el médico griego Plotino Rhodakanaty con el propósito de divulgar la frenología en México. También se presenta un esbozo biográfico de su editor y se explica en qué consistió la teoría pluralista del cerebro propuesta por el médico alemán Franz Joseph Gall, denominada después como frenología por su alumno, Johann Christoph Spurzheim. |
