| Sumario: | This article discusses the development of carbon footprint calculating software in light of the rejection of a proposed personal carbon dioxide emissions cap-and-trade scheme in Great Britain. The financial issues cited by Hilary Benn, the Minister of the Environment in Great Britain, upon his cancellation of the project are noted. The program would monetize the unused carbon of British citizens, allowing them to sell this surplus to people who use more carbon by flying frequently, or driving a sport utility vehicle. The development of proposals and computer programs for the calculation of carbon dioxide emissions is described.
