Sumario:This article describes the architecture of the swimming facility at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. Known as the Water Cube, the firm of China Construction Design International wanted the building to express water and its interaction with the environment around it. To accomplish this they used a plastic, ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), which the team used to create translucent pillows for the building's cladding.
