| Sumario: | A biography of Karl Gjellerup, a Nobel Prize winner in literature, is presented. He was born on June 2, 1857 in Sjaelland, Denmark. In 1874, he graduated summa cum laude from Haderslev School then pursued in the University of Copenhagen to study theology and a summa cum laude graduate. In his mid- 20s, he began to travel and reside in Dresden and wrote his first German novel "Pastor Mors." He was attracted to Buddhism and Indian thought that regarded him as a classic poet of Buddhism. |
