Sumario:A biography of Czeslaw Milosz, a contemporary Polish poet is presented. He was born on June 30, 1911 in Szetejnie, a town outside Vilnius, Lithuania, then part of Russia, but grew up speaking Polish. He studied at the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius taking up law while pursuing his inclination in literature. When the Germans invaded Poland, he joined the Polish Army and wrote Résistance poetry, and learned English. His life entering the Polish diplomatic service are discussed.
