Sumario:The article focuses on the old Genoese dialect of Carloforte, one of the linguistic islands of Sardinia in Italy. It is noted that the dialect of Carloforte originally came from Pegli which is located in the coastal region of Liguria and is often called "Tabarkino". Historical reason why the dialect is called as such is discussed. Popular songs of Carloforte which are associated to its cultural traditions, as well as other important elements of its folklore are also presented.
