Sumario:The article presents an introduction on the Italian literary scene of the first decades of the 20th century. It mentions that the Italian new wave was tightly concerned to the social and political events that influenced European history from the middle of the 19th century to the fabulous year of 1914. Furthermore, Italy's overall intellectual and social direction stayed repressive and backward, together with the continuous negation to any populist movement who acknowledge the rights of workers.
