ONTOLOGICAL ISSUES IN PHARMACOGENOMICS.

The article discusses the study on the ontological issues in pharmacogenomics. It defines pharmacogenetics as the study of how variation in genes is related to variation in drug response. It illustrates few basic activities in which pharmacogenomics is concerned such as cataloguing variation in the...

ab: The article discusses the study on the ontological issues in pharmacogenomics. It defines pharmacogenetics as the study of how variation in genes is related to variation in drug response. It illustrates few basic activities in which pharmacogenomics is concerned such as cataloguing variation in the human genome that is relevant to drug response, cataloguing the ways in which drug response varies among humans, and understanding how to predict drug response based on genetic makeup. It adds that pharmacogenomics is one of the post-genomic activities that have followed the sequencing of the human genome.
