It looks at the origins of Middle Platonism, the name given to the form of Platonism popular in the two to three centuries before Roman philosopher Plotinus and his followers, also known as Neoplatonists. Philosopher Eudorus of Alexandria, Egypt was the first figure recognized to have had a powerful influence in the formation of the new Platonism. Middle Platonist doctrines are also examined. |
