Sumario:The article offers the views of Richard Fisher, executive director of academic and professional publishing at Cambridge University Press, on how to achieve an effective publishing relationship. According to Fischer, publishers must be honest about their capacities, same as with authors about what they expect. He also states that authors must be realistic about their wants as what impresses the hiring bodies may not impress editors, and all services cannot be provided by the same publisher.
