Sumario:The article presents a study that developed a double-labeled dimerization-based molecular beacons (DBMB) which integrate the phthalocyanines (Pc's) of near-infrared (IR) fluorophores. It states that the DBMB creates efficient quenching and signal-to-background (SB) ratio and can be used in live cell imaging or other applications that require monitoring of biological matrices. It relates that the doubling of the extinction coefficient and fluorescent photon is the notable feature of the design.
