Sumario:	The article focuses on the use of the Koha open source software at Horohenua Library Trust, a small library system in New Zealand. Based on Linux, MYSQL and Perl, Koha was created to address the need of the library system for a replacement circulation software. Pubic, school and special libraries in the U.S. and Canada adopted Koha because of the pricing and security vulnerabilities of Microsoft-based software. Aside from Koha, libraries can choose either Evergreen, a functional open source circulation and cataloging system and Pines, a system providing seamless service and inter-library loan.
