Summary:	The article discusses the development of central processing units (CPUs) which incorporate embedded graphics circuitry. The expectation that CPUs with integrated graphics processing capability will supplant motherboard-based integrated graphics processor (IGP) chipsets and largely eradicate IGPs' share of the computer-graphics market by the year 2013 is noted. A history of graphics hardware for personal computers is also presented, mentioning that the first dedicated graphics processing unit (GPU) was found on the IBM Monochrome Display Adapter (MDA) in 1981.
