| Sumario: | The article presents a discussion of historical scholarship in Hungary since 1989. The rise of social history as a part of the curriculum at Hungarian universities is noted, particularly for its influence on the study of demographics in the early modern period. There is said to have been a shift of research priorities toward urban history and the conditions of everyday life. The influence of scholars from other European traditions on the development of Hungarian historiography, and the decline of Marxist influence, is also discussed. |
