Sumario:The article offers information on the foundation, nature and the history of the development of Nineteenth Century UK Periodicals, one of the five online editions of the periodicals and newspapers programme launched by Gale/Cengage Learning in 2007. It mentions that this project covers the events, lives, values, and themes that happened and shaped the 19th century world. The project was conceptualized during the meeting of the library directors and scholars in June 2004 at the British Library. Through the effort of the Advisory Board members led by Joanne Shattok, the articles were organized and classified into five subject areas such as New Readerships, Empire, Culture, Working Life, and Knowledge. Future plans and projects of Gale are also explored.
