Sumario:The article focuses on the Virtual Computing Laboratory (VCL) of the North Carolina State University (NCSU). It states that the university's experience with its high-performance computing (HPC) resource based on a Linux cluster platform led to the development of the VCL. Advantages of the VCL include economy of scale and operation, ease of access and usability and automation. An increase in the number of VCL users is reported.
