| Sumario: | A chapter from the book "Selected Proceedings of the First International Conference on Hispanic Humor" is presented. It examines the work of Argentine author Luisa Valenzuela, "Simetrias." The collection of short stories uses a technique which distorted the fairy tale genre. Particular focus is given on the four-part tale "4 Principe 4" and the story "Avatares." According to the author, the parodic manipulation of fairy tale's basic structure offered a satirical examination of the weaknesses of the patriarchal structure of society. |
