This paper attempts to carry out a comparison among different translations, and between translations and Latin texts belonging to different textual families. This comparison shows that some features common only to certain Latin texts survive in some of the Romance translations. In the Romance texts we also find different kinds of mistakes made during the translation process. Finally, we can verify the existence of an independent Romance tradition, separate from Latin, and with features of its own. Este artículo analiza algunas de las características de las traducciones de la Epistola de cura rei familiaris del Pseudo Bernardo que se realizaron en la Península Ibérica en el siglo XV, momento en el que este texto conoció una extraordinaria difusión. Mediante la comparación de los textos traducidos entre sí y con ejemplares latinos de diferentes familias, este trabajo trata de apuntar las causas de la diversidad de las versiones. La identificación de rasgos comunes a los textos latinos y romances muestra en ciertos casos la pervivencia de variantes del texto latino en los ejemplares romances; asimismo, se encuentran en los textos errores de traducción debidos a diversos motivos.
