| Sumario: | The article examines the development of Islamic publishing in Indonesia. It discusses the development of the publishing industry in relation with the country's history and politics. It also focuses on the different publications that exist across varying constituencies, such as class, gender and education as well as specific sub-denominational persuasions and views. The author presents a conclusion that the development of Islamic publishing reflect the nature of Islamic concepts and subjects currently discussed across the country. |
