Åhlström was an organist at Mariakyrkan in Stockholm, Sweden and composer of chamber music, theater music, and songs at Jakobskyrkan, also in Sweden. As a composer and publisher, Åhlström understood the potential market beyond the bookstalls where selling music was done. The author highlighted Olof's entrepreneurial skills which helped him acquire a monopoly on printing music.
