Experimental and Theoretical Engineering Projects
Low-carbon steels are generally used for the manufacture of rolls. Such laminations are widely used in the manufacture of industrial products by means of the so-called formed, welded, or both methods. As for the composition of this type of steel, it varies in a narrow range. However, small differenc...

Such laminations are widely used in the manufacture of industrial products by means of the so-called formed, welded, or both methods. As for the composition of this type of steel, it varies in a narrow range. However, small differences in their content can affect the rolling and forming characteristics. Some compositions contain less than 0.3% of other alloying elements. About 80% of the tonnage of rolling, ribbons and rolled plates is within the following composition ranges:% of C: 0.03 to 0.12,% of Mn: 0.2 to 1.0,% of Si: 0.02 to 0.15,% of P: 0.04 Maximum,% of S: 0.05 Maximum. Sample preparation plays an important role in obtaining reliable results. This work aims to present the metallographic technique of steels with low carbon content, for this purpose the attacking reagents for this type of steels are listed, as well as some microstructures that exemplify the resolution by the attacker used. This study lays the foundations for subsequent ones. pubtype: eBook doctype: Book ougenre: Book language: English copyright: @attributes: flag: N copyrightText: holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
