Description
Summary:The article reports on the efforts of children's publishers to evaluate their support for literary festivals amid poor ticket and book sales at a number of events in Great Britain in 2009. Publishers are said to spend five-figure sums in supporting their authors at events as a result of an increase in annual festivals. Each year, children's festivals take place at Edinburgh, Cheltenham, Bath and Hay-on-Wye festivals. The Edinburgh International Book Festival also decided to move away from events that focused on new titles to discussion and debates.
