| Sumario: | Although commercial concerns demanded that French book publishers be far less political and inflammatory during the Dreyfus Affair than their counterparts in the press, many publishers took moral stands on the issue and refused to publish anti-Dreyfus or anti-Semitic works. Some squared themselves with the anti-Dreyfus camp as well. Regardless of their positions, these businessmen and intellectuals contributed to the flow of public information and therefore were an integral part of the process. |
