NOVELISTS, PUBLISHERS, AND FICTION IN MIDDLE-CLASS MAGAZINES: 1860-1880.
Evaluates the popularity of periodicals in mid-Victorian England among the middle class. Novelists that contributed to these magazines found that they were forced to repeat formulas and ideas in order to retain their readership.
