| Sumario: | The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship between a Perceptual Quotient score of above or below 90 on the Marianne Frostig Developmental Test of Visual Perception and handwriting ability. Handwriting samples obtained from 173 first grade children were scored by three trained raters. A good handwriting group composed of 30 subjects and a poor handwriting group composed of 30 subjects was then formed based on handwriting sample scores. The 60 subjects were administered the Marianne Frostig Developmental Test of Visual Perception. Data was treated using a simple chi square test (2x2). Results indicated that there was not a significant relationship between good or poor handwriting ability and a Perceptual Quotient score of above or below 90 on the Marianne Frostig Developmental Test of Visual Perception. |
