| Sumario: | Today I would like to give you a progress report about PLAN, and in the process some indication of our specific concerns with guidance and individual planning in a program of individualized education. PLAN grew out of Project TALENT, a survey of about 500,000 United States high school students that was undertaken by the American Institutes for Research in 1960. Project PLAN is being carried out at the Palo Alto office of the American Institutes for Research with additional funding from some of the participating school districts and from the Westinghouse Learning Corporation. Funds from the U. S. Office of Education indirectly contribute to portions of the project through support for continuing activities for Project TALENT, a Title III grant to the Fremont Unified School District in California for the development of a program of teacher training, and a guidance research project that is developing a comprehensive guidance program for students.
