He offers a history of the number of dogs he's had to kill because of the risk of their attacking his chickens. He relates how his love for dogs once made it difficult for him to kill them. He wonders why some dog owners aren't concerned when their dogs kill a chicken because they don't consider it to be a pet, or breeding stock, that are replacements for genetic lines that have been bred for generations. |
