| Sumario: | In this article the author discusses aspects of the sculpture of Louise Bourgeois. Under examination is Bourgeois' 1964 exhibition at the Stable Gallery in New York City. Sculpture on display at the show was described as being small, lumpy and without reference to the human body or any other identifiable form. As a result critical response, which was widespread, was mostly dismissive of Bourgeois work, and called into question her basic talent, sculptural execution and her professional momentum. |
