| Sumario: | The article presents an overview of a virtual computing initiative which was developed at the virtual computing laboratory at North Carolina State University, which was established in August of 2004. The initiative focused on the concept of a highly scaleable, high performance computing resource which provides on demand applications to students anywhere and at anytime. The laboratory allows students to gain access to several computing configurations without having to maintain each one separately. |
