      ab: The article describes two real-life examples of agent-oriented applications, both of which are embedded electronic measuring systems. In each case the author discusses the constituent parts and significant issues raised concerning agent-oriented design including software development and matters related to cost. From his analysis he concludes that it is easier to manage software development for any individual agent than for the entire product as a whole. He also notes that individual automated testers are a more cost-effective alternative than one complex tester.
