| Sumario: | The article discusses the complex scholarly debate about the nature of publishing in 93 CE with regard to the publication of the works by Flavius Josephus/Joseph ben Matatjahu. It discusses further an assumption that the publication of a work on paper or papyrus was less important than social and oral interaction between authors and their audiences in the form of recitations. It mentions that publishing practices in Josephus' time are not only driven by oral recitation of the author with a limited audience but includes dissemination of book scrolls. |
