Sumario:New technologies are improving and extending the impact and reach of public libraries. In Montclair, New Jersey, a renovation by the Hillier Group, Princeton, New Jersey, of the local library revived the original light-filled, open-planning concepts. Hillier also updated lighting, finishes, and furnishings to reflect the new emphasis on computer resources and the resulting increased demands on the library staff. By implementing the computer technology and the integration of useful programs, the library has strengthened its ties to the community and become more relevant to residents.
