Sumario:Weld County in Colorado has joined forces with Systems & Computer Technology, Malvern, Pennsylvania, to create a more cost-effective open systems/distributed computing setup. The new computing environment allows the county to implement advanced technologies, such as a relational database management system, thereby speeding and simplifying access to information and placing control of critical data in the hands of staff in the front line. Under the new outsourcing arrangement, the county has realized a decrease in its annual data processing costs, from $2.1 million to around $1.4 million.
