Sumario:The New York Department of Buildings is using a wireless, handheld product to automate the building inspection process. The number of building inspections required increased dramatically after the terrorist attacks of September 2001, so the city worked with LinksPoint, Connecticut, to develop this product. The handheld computers can be used to access building information, input inspection results, and upload the results to the department's database.
