| Sumario: | The writer discusses David Hemenway's commentary that appears in this issue on Gary Kleck and Marc Gertz's “Armed Resistance to Crime: The Prevalence and Nature of Self-Defense with a Gun,” which appears in The Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, vol. 86, 1995. The writer discusses the main shortcomings of the approaches of both Hemenway and Kleck and Gertz in their discussions of civilian defensive gun use and considers some of the key issues of contention. He argues that there is good reason to believe that both sides are off-the-mark. |
