Sumario:The writer describes 92 ways that our lives will change by the year 2025. These possible future developments are judged to be likely, or at least plausible, given current trends. The compendium of changes likely to result from the information revolution leads to two very broad generalizations, one of them hopeful, the other a cause for grave concern. First, we are building up unparalleled power to do whatever we want to do—infotech is making us godlike in our capabilities. Second, we do not know how to use this growing power discerningly. A world future network is needed; this would be a global system that would allow people everywhere to share in sorting out the issues we confront as we struggle to manage the future. Categories covered include technology, culture, education, work, business and the economy, money, government, media and entertainment, private life, and general.
