| Sumario: | Part of a special section on the projections of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to 1995. The BLS employment projections to 1995, although too conservative, accurately predicted most general occupational trends. A number of the most notable inaccuracies in the projections for detailed occupations mirror the conservative nature of estimated growth rates that was recognized in previous evaluations. Although the impact of inaccurate industry employment projections was considerable, the projections of the changes in the utilization of occupations by industry led to the largest source of projection error, as they had done in previous evaluations.
