Sumario:The writer examines female college graduates' earnings in relation to men with a similar education. Among college graduates, the average annual wage for women was 73 percent that of men in 1993. Nonetheless, when the earnings of women were compared with men's earnings in the same major area of study, at the same degree level, and in the same age bracket, around 50 percent of the women earned a minimum of 87 percent as much as the men.
