| Sumario: | The 1991 National Household Education Survey (NHES) offers insight into the degree to which American employees further their learning and skill-development activities after leaving full-time education. A significant proportion of these employees took part in part-time adult education activities in 1990–91, and that proportion seems to have increased over time, enhancing the quality of the workforce. The NHES data verify that participation in part-time adult education among members of the young adult workforce is greater for those with superior levels of formal academic accomplishment. The study's findings concur with similar research based on the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth and the Current Population Survey. |
