Under development at a number of computer companies, the Synchronous Automated Translation System (SATS) will bring about this transformation, using advanced software to translate, which means it can be integrated it into practically any form of machine or technology. The ongoing evolution of computer power suggests that high-level automated translation systems will be operational in the near future, and corporations are motivated to develop such systems because of the potential profits involved. Automated translation systems are unlikely to reach absolutely perfect interpretation, but the improvement and growing use of SATS will be a significant advance over the mass interlinguistic silence or incomprehension that currently exists.
