| Sumario: | Current trends indicate a future shortage of qualified labor. An unprecedented convergence of demographic and educational trends means that labor shortages will be a significant factor in the immediate future. Corporations will be forced to open and operate their own schools to train their own workers, and retirement in its current form may disappear. Companies in need of employees may even support human cloning as an antidote to the effects of reproductive trends, but they are more likely to drive the growth of artificial intelligence as an alternative to human workers.
